On Wednesday, January 25, the Employees of the Special Purpose Center of the Moscow police took part in a charity campaign and donated blood for the victims of the gas explosion at the Italian restaurant "Il Pittore" that occurred on January 9 this year.
The action was attended by 40 men of the mobile special purpose unit of the Special Purpose Center of Russia's MVD Main Administration for the City of Moscow. Ordinary donors who had come to the blood transfusion point were at first surprised at seeing such a lot of men in the Moscow Police Special Forces uniform. However, after learning about the purpose of their visit, they genuinely approved of it.
"Over the past two years our friendship with the internal affairs bodies has been consolidated. When something happens and a lot of patients come flooding here, some strong guys form the internal affairs bodies visit us and donate blood. Thus, they save people, save the lives of dozens of our citizens," said Professor Anzor Khubutia, the director of the N.V. Sklifosovsky Scientific Research Institute of First Aid and a corresponding member of RAMS, thanking the officers.
"It is not the first time the Special Forces officers act as donors. Over the past three years, twelve hundred men of the mobile special purpose unit of the Special Purpose Center of Russia's MVD Main Administration for the City of Moscow donated blood by taking part in charity events", - said Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Ivanov, Assistant to the Personnel Chief of the Special Purpose Center of Russia's MVD Main Administration for the City of Moscow.
18 liters of blood donated by the Special Purpose Center's staff will be used to rehabilitate the victims of the explosion at the restaurant. However, part of it will remain in the blood bank to save more than one life yet.
